Forskningsområder

Stensruds forskning er rettet inn mot ulike aspekter ved forebygging av folkemord og massive menneskerettighetsbrudd. Hun leder prosjektet “Mass Atrocity Resistance”, et komparativt prosjekt som studerer lokale aktørers motstand mot massevold. Hun er også del av et prosjekt finansiert av NOS-HS om småstaters rolle i forebygging av folkemord og massevold, særlig gjennom FNs sikkerhetsråd. Hun har koordinert et prosjekt om Myanmar og manglende forebygging, publisert i tidsskriftet Global Responsibility to Protect. 

Stensrud er med i nettverkene Politics after War og Women Network on the Responsibility to Protect, Peace and Security.
