Population poll 2012

From August 2010 to May 2012, the The Norwegian Holocaust Center conducted the first quantitative survey on the Norwegian population's attitudes towards Jews and other minorities.

This first comprehensive population survey was conducted on behalf of the Ministry of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Justice and Public Security.

The project group consisted of national and international experts in antisemitism research and quantitative research. Data collection was carried out by TNS Gallup in November 2011.

The survey report was presented on May 29, 2012.

Quantitative surveys on attitudes towards minorities are relatively new in Norway, but have been carried out in many countries as a tool to expose group-hostile attitudes in the population.

Knowledge of such attitudes is a prerequisite for promoting tolerance in a pluralistic society. With this survey, there is now a solid knowledge base in this field.
