Julius Paltiel at Falstad Prison Camp Near Trondheim

Julius Paltiel was a prisoner at Falstad between October 7 and November 25, 1942. Falstad was infamous for violence and abuse of prisoners. Police commander Flesch wanted “blood to be spilled,” expecting “one dead Jew a day”. Julius Paltiel was one of few Norwegian Jews who survived the Holocaust and who could speak about what he had gone through, as you can hear here (interview in Norwegian).
